Happy Holi !

It's the time of the year which marks the onset of spring, shedding of winter clothes, pleasant weather, savoring chilled drinks, deserts and also the festive mood.

Now you must be wondering what festive mood i must be talking about, well, its none other than the festival- Holi!

To elucidate you a little in brief; Holi is a traditional Hindu festival. This festival is for two days.On the first day, after sunset a bonfire is lit up where people gather around and celebrate 'Holika Dahan'. Significantly,a mythology is attached to it as and when ages ago,a powerful and evil king named Hiranyakashyap lived. He wanted everyone to worship him and also expected from his son Prahlad although he was devoted to lord Vishnu. The demon king couldn't see the sight of Prahlad being an ardent devotee of lord Vishnu and so he made several attempts to get him killed. When all his attempts proved futile,he finally asked his sister Holika to enter into the flames with Prahlad in her lap. However, the benefit to her was that she had been given a boon in which she could enter the fire unharmed.Holika sat with Prahlad in her lap unaware of the fact that the boon only worked when she would enter the fire alone and so she had to pay for her sins;thereby Holika burnt alive and Prahlad came out of the fire unscathed as he continued chanting lord Vishnu's name.

That was the long story short and now i conclude on the second day festival. On the second day of Holi, people play with colours. From here on their is also a mythological significance whereby lord Krishna initiated the celebration of playing with colours. He felt utmost ecstasy playing it with Radha and other gopis and since then onward it became a festive occasion.

The festival of colours is a reminder to make merry, unite and come together as one,be it friends and family, leaving all the hatred, resentment, ill will behind and embrace the colour of love, the colour of friendship, the colour of blissfulness, the colour of exuberance.

Lets play Holi !!!

Kyunki buraa naa maano holi hai!

Unfailing Outlook

While you have dreams in your vision to fulfill them, you also see on the other hand how people are living their life. The kind of life you too are dreaming at the moment. Someone's a doctor, musician, singer, astronaut, engineer, architect etc.Perhaps every individual lives up to their dreams as without dreams reality hits us hard.   To live your dream you need to have an ambition,an aim, strength to resist trials and tribulations, undivided focus and hard work.  And all this comes with a cost - Time! Time which keeps ticking at every mini second Time that doesn't stop Time which is the present Time that guides you to make or break your life. Like the wrist watch on your hand completes your style, the same way the time is a constant reminder to you to walk on the pedestal or you'll get hit by a car. But at times,we fail,we feel let down due to circumstances and sometimes hard luck. Whatever the issue of concern may be but it's really important to ha...

You & I

We both were enjoying the sunset on the beach. He t ook interest in the sandcastles I made . I looked at him in a childish way.  He said,"This is why I fell in love with you"  I gently laughed as he spoke. Again, he flattered me, saying,"What? I am serious Naina!"  "Ok, fine! When did I say you were fooling around" I chuckled The innocent look on his face made me laugh harder.I couldn't resist that moment and pulled his cheeks. He was taken aback by my sudden response. "What are you doing? It hurts!" He said " Is it so ? Then forget it, from now on wards I 'll never pull your cheeks" I mocked "Hey! Don't be mad, I like it when you do that but next time do it softly" He said After few minutes, he looked at me, his forehead display ed fine lines of tension. I knew he was about to speak something urgent. "Jokes apart" "Naina, their is something I want you to know" he prompt...
