Wish Fulfilling Dream Story

Avantika was about to leave for her office as she was getting ready for an office party.The theme was western dress and she was worried about selecting a specific dress for a week as she belonged from a strict conservative family where western dresses were restricted.

But now when she earned on her own and was independent enough to do whatever she liked,still it lacked the confidence to wear these type of attires.When she wore,she felt utterly uncomfortable and the dress bothered her more.

"Hey Avantika,you are looking gorgeous!"Complimented one of her colleagues.

She was complimented by many people but perhaps there was someone whose flattering remark she was earnestly waiting for.

Few hours passed but no reply came from his side,in fact he didn't even glanced her for once."All this preparation for nothing"She thought to herself.

In the office her best friend Tara knew about her having an enormous crush on the most handsome,decent and sophisticated guy,Nalin.But Avantika had made her a sacred promise to not let him know about her liking for him.

Four months passed since she liked him but to no avail did she get any result nor any hint from his side.Restless nights continued when she use to think about him and even while she slept,she dreamed about him.After all,dreams made her life more lively and all the things which were impossible to happen in real life,she could spend eternity with him in that fantasy world.

The party got over and everyone began to leave for their home one by one.While Avantika waited Tara asked her to get to the lift and go down to the parking area where the car was parked.

Avantika did as she was asked.She pressed the button of the lift and as the door opened,she saw someone standing beside her also entering into the lift.

It was no one else but Nalin.They both stood opposite of each other as the door closed gradually.Avantika could see him shaking his right leg slowly,playing with his phone with other hand.His body language clearly demonstrated that he was nervous around her and was just waiting for the door to open so that he could run away.

However as the lift landed to the ground floor,suddenly the lights went off.

Silence could be felt all around in the atmosphere.

Her heart thumping loudly,so audible that it could be heard from a near distance.Her hand clinging tightly to the purse she held.It was all jet black and she couldn't see him at all.Her subconscious mind making up fascinating stories and events which she may have dreamed of.She began thinking if this was the right moment she had been waiting for so long.Within seconds,she could feel sweat all over her face and trickling down from her head.

No one spoke a word.

After a minute passed,a flashlight dazzled in her eyes.As she tried to recover the sudden blindness,after few seconds she saw Nalin standing in front of her.

"I'm sorry " Nalin said softly
"For what?"Avantika asked
"For the flashlight.."Nalin replied
"Oh,okay,No problem,I'm alright"Avantika assured

"Well,what happened?Avantika asked as he stared hard into her eyes.

"Nothing"Nalin said

Avantika went ahead and began banging on the door for help.

"There's nobody out there"Nalin replied
"How can you say that?"Avantika asked
"Because Rohit had told me that the watchmen took half day leave and the one who was supposed to come would arrive late."Nalin said

"So,we have to do something or else we would get choked out of oxygen and most probably die"Avantika remarked

"Well,i think i could remove this fan and get us out of here."Nalin said

"Then start doing it already"Avantika said

"Before that"

"I need to say something"Nalin said looking at her mysteriously.

"You were looking really beautiful tonight,i couldn't help looking away my eyes off you"

"Thank you"Avantika blushed

"And one more thing"

"Uh,are you single?"Nalin asked
"What?"Avantika asked
"No,Damn! I am extremely sorry i shouldn't have asked that"Nalin said

"I'll start removing this fan"Nalin said,diverting away from the topic.

After many attempts,he was successful at removing the fan and got her and himself out.

"Thank you so much,Nalin,if you hadn't been there,i don't know what would have happened"Avantika said

"It's my pleasure"Nalin said

"And yes,i am single"Avantika said,her face turning scarlet.

"I'll call you"Nalin said,with great elation.

They both looked at each other,an air of mystery enchanting their surrounding.Her wish had been fulfilled.All this time,she was living her dream and now when it turned into reality,it was the least expected thing she could ever imagine.

Yes,she was the most luckiest girl,feeling truly like a princess in a magical world at this hour.
