How to trick your mind in positive ways

It's distressing and saddening to see that your mind can trick you by throwing you into a storm of vortex. Your mind constantly tries to remind you how you are incapable to do things and fall into the overwhelming feelings of depression. In life, there are going to be ups and downs and that's normal because that's a part and parcel of your life. Nevertheless you have to deal with it. But in today's time when you are low and are feeling blues, sadly there's no one to hold your hand and make you feel better. To be frank, don't rely always on someone to pick you up when you are down and vulnerable. Being dependent all the time is also not a good sign especially when you know that you are living alone or that the experiences you are having or struggling with cannot be similar in comparison to others. So, the question here is what must you do when your mind is always racing and not coming to a halt? What must you do when your mind keeps you in a stat...

The Guardian Angel

It was a pleasant day outside. There was no trace of sunlight and the grey clouds lazily floated in the sky. The shadow of the clouds fell on the skyscrapers and on the people walking on the pedestal. Only for the lovers this particular day was a refreshment. They would call each other and make plans of a long drive or to a hill station for some days. The girl sitting next to the window would think if she would get bright rays of sunlight today. No, she was not at all delighted with this weather. She was already grief-stricken with the loss of her love. Her eyes displayed colours of dejection and wretchedness. Her nose turning red due to sobbing. Her lips rough and dry like a dead leaf. They say you need someone to stand by you when you are overwhelmed with your fate and the role the circumstances come to play with. But on the other hand, this is also the bitter truth that nobody is there for you. No one. You may think your friends will understand you for they have been at your goo...

Dancing In The Rain

It was raining for quite a long time and she regretted not bringing her umbrella today. Everyday she would bring her umbrella but it would never rain not even for once. But just today it slipped from her mind and the dark clouds rumbling with loud noises took great advantage of it. It rained and rained and flooded the streets. Now, she tried all ways to find someone lend their umbrella. Some would say, "sorry I just got one", "sorry, I can't give", "Ask him/her if they have a spare one". And so one by one people declined sharing their umbrella. She would think how insensitive of them. But that's how people behave in their defense; strange and selfish. As the heavy grey clouds hovered above slowly in the sky and darkened the atmosphere making it gloomy, she would feel dejected by everyone's denial to help her. Without any ado, she stood up from her desk, took her purse and walked out of the office. She couldn't helplessly keep asking th...

Swimming in between past and present

Well, you must be wondering what the title means exactly? Don't you? Isn't this the only thing that grabbed your attention?  Without any further delay, I'll explain what I want to say with my title. So, Swimming in between the past and present means that you are wandering to places but it leads you nowhere.  Past which means your past life; your memories, your good and bad days that have passed by and so on. Whereas present means today; the continuity, the time that is moving slowly at it's pace.  The important question here is why would one literally dwindle or get themselves entangled between past and present? The answer is no simple but it's not even complicated. In fact, It's no mysterious problem to be solved. To be frank, we all are totally messed up in today's life. There is no certainty. We all are trying to find ourselves, find something we exactly are not aware of. Something that is missing in our life, some part of us.  It's this...

The Unspeakable Love, Continued...

Aunty came early at home, Netra immediately messaged me to come right away. I sensed that very moment that something must have happened. While I came in, She was sitting on the sofa and it seemed as if she were waiting for me only. Her grey eyes expressed displeasure. She spoke with a voice full of authority. "Listen Chakshu, I have come to know everything about Netra and Laksh." "This evening when I came back, My driver said that he had seen her with a boy elder to her trying to hold her by the arm as if persuading her to do something in the lobby." She said "So you Know" I sighed "Yes, Do not Interrupt while I am speaking" She scolded "Although I did not believe in his words but at home when she had gone to bathroom, the same guy had messaged her on whats app" "I read all the conversations between them" "I want to know that if you knew everything about this then why didn't you tell me? Even whe...

The Unspeakable Love

I looked at her. She appeared to be like a withered flower that had lost its fragrance. When I asked her what was the matter she gestured with her eyes that she was broken. Well, you must be wondering who I am talking about. It's my friend Netra. A sweet, sensible, bubbly girl. She didn't have many friends but she was happy that she had me as her bestie since childhood. Well, we lived in the same building plus we were also neighbors so it was natural that we had a close emotional bond.  But looking at her that way, I was deeply sad. I felt that somebody had broken a piece of my heart.  Hurting her meant inflicting pain on me too. We were after all more than friends. We were like sisters, at times fighting like cats but also protective of each other if someone tried to harm us. The evening passed away painfully but she was reluctant and didn't not respond to my plead. After much thought and waiting, I called Laksh. "Hello, Is this Laksh speaking?" I...

Love in between the lines, continued..

"You know what Aasha, you don't love him, in fact you want intimacy, that passion in your love life which you had with Deepak" Mitali said, trying to convey me. "That's not true!!" I exclaimed "Who else knows you better than I ?" Mitali frowned "Well..."  "Do you really think I don't love him?" I asked "Of course, you dont buddy ! It's nothing but only the post break up phase you are going through" "Anybody can tell looking at your face that you feel dejected, that you want someone." "Because you were used to talking to only that significant other. You shared every little detail with him.Your identity was solely connected with him and now everything's gone so you are not able to cope up, that's it !" Mitali said "But Mitali, even if you are right, why do I feel so much attached with him? If I desperately wanted somebody I would have either patch up with De...
