It was a pleasant day outside. There was no trace of sunlight and the grey clouds lazily floated in the sky. The shadow of the clouds fell on the skyscrapers and on the people walking on the pedestal. Only for the lovers this particular day was a refreshment. They would call each other and make plans of a long drive or to a hill station for some days. The girl sitting next to the window would think if she would get bright rays of sunlight today. No, she was not at all delighted with this weather. She was already grief-stricken with the loss of her love. Her eyes displayed colours of dejection and wretchedness. Her nose turning red due to sobbing. Her lips rough and dry like a dead leaf.
They say you need someone to stand by you when you are overwhelmed with your fate and the role the circumstances come to play with. But on the other hand, this is also the bitter truth that nobody is there for you. No one. You may think your friends will understand you for they have been at your good times but suddenly they disappear from your life into a cloud of mist as soon as tragedy falls upon you.
She was holding back her tears for quite a long time as too much of crying had caused her a headache.Without her notice, the phone flashed her mother's name on the screen. It vibrated noisily buzzing at every ring. Her eyes now glued to the screen, she wondered if she should tell what had happened. She couldn't ignore her mother's call and picked it up.
"Hello"
"Hello beta"
"I know what had happened" Her mother said calmly
"Hmm"
"Come back home, staying at a dark place won't do you any good. Just look at yourself! How horrible you look with that untidy dress and that uncombed messy hair. My doll looks like a witch!" She commented
"Mom, wha..what are you saying? where are you?"
"Look down dear! " Her mother said
And she saw her mother looking upon at her. Standing next to the Maruti Swift car. Her driver appearing to be still in his seat as he clutched the steering wheel with his hands. The first floor was definitely a live presence of her daughter. She couldn't bare it anymore. To see her daughter in a distraught state.
"Now, Don't waste time. Hurry up, take a quick bath, pack your bags. We are leaving today. This is not a way to deal with your life. You have a lot more to see. There are more hurdles to be crossed." Her mother said in a firm manner.
"Ya..I'll be ready" She said in a low voice.
"You have to be! Learn to stand on your own. Don't wait for the world to hold your hand and take you out of darkness." And as she said, she disconnected the call.
Her mother was the guardian angel in her life. Yes, she was the sunlight her daughter had been desperately waiting for. And so, the beginning of the new phase of her life had started off at that moment.
